I use BugEater to ask the candidates to conduct exploratory testing as part of the candidate assessment for a QA role I hire for. On average, out of 20 applicants, only 3-4 manage to identify ~80% of the test cases and bugs. At the same time, 1 or 2 candidates can find them all and receive a job offer for their exceptional performance. BugEater eliminates the need to design custom challenges for candidates, making it effortless to assess their practical skills and experience. The tool effectively reveals whether a candidate can develop a solid testing strategy, cover all standard test cases, and uncover critical bugs.
We used this application as part of onboarding for our interns, and it worked wonderfully. 70% of new team members reported an improved understanding of QA theory, especially appreciating the focus on practical exercises. I was also impressed—now I plan to adapt it to our internal processes to make onboarding even more effective. Thanks for a great tool!
The application for teaching practical software testing skills has been a great addition to our computer science lessons. Most students received the lab assignments positively—it was a new and engaging experience for them. According to their feedback, they now better understand how testers find bugs and had a chance to view the profession from the inside. The ratings speak for themselves: interest in tasks was rated at 9 out of 12, with a desire to continue at 11 out of 12. Initially, tasks seemed challenging (7 out of 12), but overall, the process was a success. Thank you for an excellent app that has become an important part of our curriculum!
