A great tester always has a clear view of the current state. Your Dashboard is that view. It's the first page you see after logging in and the one you'll return to every day to check your progress, complete daily challenges, and stay connected to what's happening on the platform.
Learning Objectives
By the end of this lesson you will be able to:
- Interpret all three stats in the Dashboard stats row
- Use the In Progress section to continue where you left off
- Complete Daily Challenges to maintain your streak
- Understand what each Dashboard tab is for
The Stats Row
At the top of your Dashboard, three cards give you an instant snapshot of your learning health:
| Card | What it shows |
|---|---|
| Total XP | Your lifetime XP earned across all completed lessons and practices |
| Badges | The number of Module Badges you've earned so far |
| Streak | How many consecutive days you've had at least one learning activity |
A streak of 7 days means you've learned something every day for a week. Miss a day, and the streak resets to 1. (Your longest streak is always saved — you're never losing that personal best.)
In Progress
Below the stats row you'll find the In Progress section. This shows every module you've started but not yet completed, along with a Continue button that drops you right back into the next unfinished lesson.
Think of it as your reading pile — except each item rewards you with XP when you finish it.
Daily Challenges
The Challenges tab on your Dashboard contains three short tasks that refresh every day:
| Challenge | What to do |
|---|---|
| Complete a section | Finish any lesson or practice |
| Answer a quiz | Submit any quiz, pass or fail |
| Review a module | Open and scroll through any module's lesson list |
Completing challenges keeps your streak alive even on days when you don't have time for a full lesson. They're your minimum viable learning activity.
The News Feed
On the right side of the Dashboard you'll find the News Feed — a stream of platform announcements, new course releases, and feature updates. It's the fastest way to stay current with what's new on BugEater.
Dashboard Tabs
| Tab | Status | What's there |
|---|---|---|
| Overview | Live | In Progress modules, stats row |
| Challenges | Live | Daily Challenges list |
| Leaderboard | Coming soon | Your rank among all learners by total XP |
Pro Tips
Check the Dashboard first every session. Open it before diving into a lesson. Two minutes here saves you from missing a Daily Challenge.
The streak number is a promise to yourself. Once you've built a 7-day streak, you'll be surprised how reluctant you are to break it. That reluctance is what makes it work.
The Leaderboard tab is coming. When it launches, it will show your ranking among all BugEater learners. Turn on "Private Profile" in your Account settings if you'd prefer not to appear on it (more on this in Module 3).
Summary
Your Dashboard gives you three numbers (XP, badges, streak), a shortcut back to in-progress content, daily challenges to keep the habit alive, and a news feed to stay informed. Visit it every day. It takes 30 seconds and keeps your streak intact.
